Vivaldi is a desktop and mobile browser made by a company with offices in Norway, Iceland and the USA, founded by one of Opera's co-founders. It is unusually configurable — tab stacks, tiling, built-in mail and calendar — and the company funds itself through search and bookmark partnerships rather than by collecting user data. Sync data is held on Vivaldi's own servers in Iceland. It runs on Chromium, so site compatibility is close to Chrome's, and every layer except the user interface is published under an open-source licence.
